Tom English slams ‘terrible’ Rangers stars after what happened v Dundee United
Rangers’ woes continued as they fell to an early deficit against Dundee United.
The Gers have had a miserable campaign and are set to finish trophyless, as arch-rivals Celtic could lift a domestic treble.
There is set to be a huge summer rebuild on the cards in Glasgow as the 49ers are set to complete their takeover and it cannot come quick enough.

Rangers’ defence slammed after Dundee moment
Rangers‘ backline has been one of their biggest issues this season under both Philippe Clement and interim boss Barry Ferguson.
The Gers’ struggles at the back continued in the Ibrox contest (14 May) as they gave away the opener to centre-back Samuel Cleall-Harding in the 21st minute.
Tom English did not hold back when talking about the goal, slamming the Light Blues defenders for their involvement in the incident.
Speaking on BBC Sportsound (14 May, 20:08 pm), he said: “That goal Rangers have conceded there, it is a great header from Harding, fair play to him, great finish.
“There is two or three Rangers defenders around him, none of them are doing anything to stop Harding from getting on the end of that.
“It’s terrible defending.”
Cyriel Dessers got the hosts back into the contest and put them in the lead, and Nico Raskin added a third but there are still plenty of issues to fix for the Auchenhowie side.

49ers need to back new manager to fix Rangers
The Gers have conceded 39 goals this season, which is the second-best record in the Scottish Premiership.
However, it is 14 more than Celtic have conceded, and they have been involved in several high-scoring contests, including the 3-4 win over Dundee United (29 March), in which a late Dessers strike rescued the three points.
Scottish Premiership | Played | Conceded | Points |
C. Celtic | 37 | 25 | 89 |
2. Rangers | 37 | 39 | 72 |
Defensive reinforcements must come through the doors in Govan in the summer, it is vital, the new manager will have no chance if the same backline is in place for the first game of the new campaign.
There are question marks over the future of the likes of James Tavernier, Robin Propper and Leon Balogun given the level of their performances in an underwhelming season for the 55-time champions.
The Auchenhowie outfit have been linked with the likes of David Alaba and Ferland Mendy with Davide Ancelotti potentially set to be in the dugout soon, which could help to fix their issues but there will be significant concern over their ages.
One thing is for sure, the Govan outfit need significant improvement in their defence, otherwise they will not catch up with Brendan Rodgers’ side anytime soon.
