Rangers took on Dundee United at Ibrox on Wednesday and beat them 3-1 in the final home game of the campaign.

Barry Ferguson, in what could be his final home game in charge of Gers, went out with his head held high.

Andrew Cavenagh spotted at Ibrox to watch Dundee United clash

The San Francisco 49ers’ investment arm 49ers Enterprises and Andrew Cavenagh are understood to be on track with regard to the takeover as they aim to acquire a 51 per cent controlling stake in Rangers.

Cavenagh, appearing to front the American consortium, was once again present at Ibrox, this time to watch the win against Dundee United.

His presence coincided with Ally McCoist saying, on the same day, that the takeover is understood to be done.

Gers are also understood to be making significant strides towards hiring the next permanent manager.

Davide Ancelotti, Carlo Ancelotti’s assistant at Real Madrid, is understood to be the frontrunner, as things stand.

Rangers will undoubtedly benefit from having Cavenagh on board

Cavenagh is poised to play a pivotal role in the Gers takeover as the leading figure in the US-led consortium, leveraging his business acumen and financial influence.

He also brings significant capital and strategic expertise to the table.

The American appears set to assume a senior role, likely as a key decision-maker on the Ibrox board, and it will be good to have some of his business acumen calling the shots.

His presence at Rangers matches suggests he’s actively evaluating the club’s operations.

Cavenagh’s executive chairman role at ParetoHealth ensures compliance with Scottish FA dual-ownership rules, allowing him to steer Gers’ financial and operational restructuring while Marathe’s 49ers focus on footballing strategy, aiming to revitalise the club’s fortunes.
