Rangers make new manager approaches after Davide Ancelotti latest

Davide Ancelotti is the name on everyone’s lips in Govan, as Rangers step up the hunt for their next permanent manager.

The Italian looks set to depart Real Madrid within weeks, as his dad, Carlo, accepts a role to become the new head coach of Brazil, opening the door for his solo journey to start.

Rangers are already said to have made an offer for Ancelotti, but any deal is far from completion as it stands, with reports in Spain possibly jumping the gun.

Ancelotti twist emerges at Rangers already

Fabrizio Romano has shared the latest on the Ibrox manager hunt overnight, reporting that contact has been made with Ancelotti.

Despite that, the Italian journalist says other candidates have also been approached, with the 49ers leaving all doors open to replace Barry Ferguson.

Despite the takeover not yet being complete, it has been said that a new manager appointment could be made before an announcement on that front.

The influence of the new American ownership is clear, there is no chance this sort of hire would happen with the old boardroom still calling the shots.

Ancelotti may not have had his time as a manager in the dugout yet, but he has been at the biggest clubs in the world, understudying one of the best managers in the world.

Ferguson cannot compete with those clubs, coming in and managing some big wins despite only being in charge of lower league Scottish sides.

That is the main difference here, and the Rangers legend just cannot compete.

Described by many as a secret weapon at Real Madrid under his father, it is time for Ancelotti to put those theories into reality at Ibrox and begin this new era with a bang.

The 49ers and the powers they bring with them will not accept mediocrity, so there couldn’t be more pressure on a possible first managerial role in history.

Ancelotti must thrive off that.
