Rangers v Dundee United preview: Team news, lineups, prediction

Rangers are set to host Dundee United in their final home game of the Scottish Premiership season on Wednesday.

After being appointed as Gers interim boss back in February, Barry Ferguson finally managed to get a home win under his belt on Sunday when his side beat Aberdeen 4-0 at Ibrox.

The first half of the Bears’ clash with Jimmy Thelin’s side was a drab affair in which neither team managed to break the deadlock.

However, four second-half goals ensured that Rangers will head into Wednesday’s meeting with Dundee United with momentum firmly on their side.

Ahead of their clash with Jim Goodwin’s side, the Ibrox giants sit second in the Scottish Premiership, albeit 17 points adrift of champions and fierce rivals Celtic.

Despite hammering Aberdeen on Sunday, Ferguson’s men have claimed victory in just one of their last seven outings across all competitions.

Meanwhile, after losing 2-0 to St Mirren on Saturday, Dundee United are fifth in the Scottish Premiership, three points behind fourth-place Aberdeen.

Goodwin’s men have now suffered three consecutive defeats in the top flight, with their last victory arriving on 12 April, when they beat St Johnstone 1-0.

Rangers v Dundee United prediction

The Light Blues were not in good form before their 4-0 win over Aberdeen, but should have enough quality to defeat an out-of-form Dundee United side.

After scoring four goals on Sunday, the Gers should head into Wednesday’s clash full of confidence, and could be good value for a 3-0 victory.
