Jim White shares Rangers response to Davide Ancelotti news from Spain already
Jim White has revealed how Rangers have reacted to the potential appointment of Davide Ancelotti.
The Italian has been strongly linked with the soon-to-be vacant seat in the dugout at Ibrox ahead of the summer.
Barry Ferguson is currently in temporary charge of the Gers but is set to leave his role at the end of the season to be replaced by a permanent option.
That could prove to be Ancelotti with White now speaking out on how the Light Blues have reacted to the updates emerging from Spain this week.

Rangers response revealed amid Ancelotti links
The Real Madrid assistant manager has grown a top reputation after playing a role as assistant to his dad, Carlo, across various roles.
This has seen the 35-year-old work with some star names for the likes of Bayern Munich, Napoli and Los Blancos since starting his coaching career in 2016.
Trophy | Times won | Season won |
Champions League | 2 | 2021/22, 2023/24 |
LaLiga | 2 | 2021/22, 2023/24 |
Copa del Rey | 1 | 2022/23 |
Super Cup | 2 | 2021/22, 2023/24 |
Club World Cup | 2 | 2022/23, 2024/25 |
There is now every chance that the Italian could be set to kickstart his own career as a head coach as his father has agreed a move to Brazil ahead of the 2026 World Cup.
It is yet to be seen whether Davide will follow him to South America, but as it stands, links to Govan are seemingly growing bigger day by day.
The Gers are said to be most active in the bidding for Ancelotti [Matteo Moretto, 12 May], with White now sharing how the G51 club have reacted to the news.
Speaking live on talkSPORT (13 May, 10:44am), he said: “At the moment it should be stressed that Rangers make no comment, thus far, on what Spanish media are reporting.
“They have been reporting that Rangers’ next manager could well end up being son of Carlo, Davide Ancelotti.”
Ancelotti could be in line to be Rangers manager
In this case, silence is deafening from the Light Blues.
If the hierarchy had come out and point blank rejected these claims, it would have shown that the reports were probably wide of the mark.
Instead, giving a “no comment” response could point towards the links to Ancelotti being close to reality ahead of the summer.
This could prove to be an exciting appointment for the future of the Ibrox club, especially compared to the return of a struggling manager like Steven Gerrard.
It will certainly be interesting to see if the Italian assistant does become manager in Govan and what that would mean for the Gers moving forward.
