Vaclav Cerny ‘to happily commit’ at Rangers as transfer claim emerges

Vaclav Cerny is playing his final games at Rangers unless a transfer decision is made at Ibrox soon.

The Czechia international was signed on a season-long loan from Wolfsburg last summer, and has been a key player for the Gers since then.

Cerny’s move to Ibrox can possibly be made permanent by triggering the reported £5.5million buy clause in his deal.

With time running out to trigger the option for the 27-year-old, it remains to be seen what Andrew Cavenag and 49ers Enterprises decide to do as they look set to complete their takeover.

Rangers not in position to commit to Cerny transfer

Cerny may happily commit to completing a move to the Light Blues, Keith Jackson says.

The Record journalist feels that the Czech forward wants to stay at Ibrox beyond the current campaign after enjoying a successful spell.

Jackson believes that the Glaswegian outfit might not be able to seal a new transfer for the 27-year-old just yet as the takeover continues to drag on.

Speaking on Hotline Live (11 May), the journalist said: “Cerny looks to me like a player who would happily commit to Rangers. But they don’t seem to be in a position to commit to him.”

49ers must push for permanent Cerny transfer

Cerny’s transfer may prove a bargain at Ibrox after what he’s been able to do this season.

The Czechia international has stood out for the Gers despite their underwhelming campaign.

Celtic won their fourth consecutive Scottish Premiership title, and the Light Blues’ prospective new owners will undoubtedly hope to knock the Hoops off their perch.

Rangers will arguably need to keep hold of their best players to compete with Brendan Rodgers’ team next season, making the continuity of Cerny a no-brainer.

The 27-year-old winger is someone the Glaswegian outfit should build the team around in the upcoming transfer window.

Cavenagh and the 49ers will undoubtedly have to spend a lot of money to sign a player with the same impact as the Czech attacker.

It makes sense for the prospective new owners to sanction a permanent move for the forward before his loan deal expires, even if they can’t complete their takeover before the end of the season.

Cerny’s situation at Ibrox will be one to keep an eye on in the coming weeks.
