Rangers urged to finalise deal for manager who’d attract big names to Ibrox
Rangers are continuing their search for a new manager with just two games left to play in the Scottish Premiership this term.
Interim boss Barry Ferguson successfully guided the Light Blues to a 4-0 victory over Aberdeen on Sunday, but the Ibrox giants are set to turn elsewhere in their managerial hunt.
Steven Gerrard has re-entered the frame to make a Rangers return, while ex-Borussia Dortmund boss Marco Rose has also been linked with the vacancy.
Meanwhile, Ferguson is currently preparing his side for Wednesday’s encounter with Dundee United, which will likely mark his last home game in the Ibrox dugout.

Davide Ancelotti backed to become Rangers boss
One candidate to become the next Rangers manager is Davide Ancelotti, who is currently assistant to his father Carlo Ancelotti at Real Madrid.

Celtic (H) | 1-1 D |
Aberdeen (H) | 4-0 W |
Speaking to the Glasgow Times [12 May], Tam Courts backed that appointment as he said: “Davide absolutely has the mentality and the temperament to manage Rangers.
“He’s very humble, but he has a lot of decisiveness too. He’s a man of character and has a bit of steel about him. A lot of that comes from what he doesn’t say, as opposed to what he does.”
PLZ Soccer pundit Courts added that Ancelotti, who he conducted his coaching badges with, could bring high-profile players to Ibrox.
“He’s a big name. Players would want to come, not just to play for Rangers, but for him as well,” Courts said.
“And if top players at Ibrox are casting their eye elsewhere, I think they’d be interested in working with Davide if he was appointed.”

Ancelotti could be an ideal appointment for Rangers
Ancelotti has only ever been an assistant manager, as opposed to being a boss in his own right, so there are risks attached to his potential appointment at Ibrox.
However, in his time as Madrid’s assistant, he has helped Los Blancos win the Champions League, epitomising his coaching capabilities.
Furthermore, the 35-year-old’s father is one of the greatest managers of all time, so he has an incredible blueprint to follow.
As alluded to by Courts, his name could attract some talented players to Rangers this summer, and keep some of the Scottish Premiership club’s high-profile assets at Ibrox.
The Light Blues will be keen to gain ground on bitter rivals Celtic next term and win silverware once more after failing to win a trophy this term.
Ancelotti has previously been an assistant coach with the likes of Bayern Munich, Napoli and Everton, further exemplifying his managerial credibility.
His father is set to leave Madrid in favour of Brazil this summer, presenting the 35-year-old with the ideal time to trade the Spanish capital for Ibrox.
