Steven Thompson slams Cyriel Dessers after shocking incident in Rangers win v Aberdeen
Rangers’ 4-0 win against Aberdeen was a hard watch for many of the Ibrox faithful despite winning the game.
Barry Ferguson’s side were uninspiring for much of the match against the Dons as they struggled to break the visitors down before the watergates eventually broke.
While Rangers may only be playing for pride in the Scottish Premiership, it was another disappointing performance overall.
However, while many stars have been criticised for their performance, and Cyriel Dessers was picked out by Steven Thompson for his awful miss in the first half.

Thompson slams Dessers for missing ‘sitter’ v Aberdeen
Dessers’ future at Rangers has been in doubt for months.
Despite the striker netting 25 goals this campaign, there is a belief that the Glaswegians can upgrade this summer.
Therefore, these remaining fixtures could be seen as a chance for Dessers to prove his worth at Ibrox.
However, against Aberdeen, the 30-year-old missed a glorious chance, which will not help his case.

With the match locked at 0-0, James Tavernier whipped in a beautiful ball to the striker who was six yards out. Yet, despite it being a free header, the striker completely missed the target.
Steven Thompson, who was watching from BBC Sportsound, was astounded at the miss.
“It’s a sitter, an absolute sitter,” he said. “We’ve seen it so many times from Cyriel Dessers.
“If you give James Tavernier space and time, his delivery is usually on point and it was.
“But Dessers, six yards out, with a free header, has got to hit the target.”

Dessers may have played his last game at Ibrox
While Dessers has had a good season on paper, he is not the striker who is going to end Celtic’s dominance.
The 30-year-old is coming to the end of his career, and those types of misses against Aberdeen could prove to be costly next season.
If there is an interested party, Rangers should cash in on Dessers for the right price.
It may be the last chance the Gers have of making money on the attacker, and with the 49ers likely to give a decent transfer budget this summer, a better replacement can be found.
