‘Bajrami finished at Rangers’ – Three things we learned v Aberdeen
Rangers faced Aberdeen at Ibrox in one of their final games of a disappointing season on Sunday.
Rangers headed into the game with nothing to play for, while Aberdeen were still hoping to catch Hibernian in third place.
It was a fairly uneventful affair for most of the game before Vaclav Cerny broke the deadlock early in the second half, with Cyriel Dessers then doubling the lead for Rangers at Ibrox.
Hamza Igamane added a third with an excellent strike before Cerny fired a shot in off Jefte late on, and the Gers cruised to a comfortable 4-0 victory in front of their fans for the first time under Barry Ferguson.
Here are three things Ibrox News learned from the fixture.

Nedim Bajrami is finished at Rangers
Nedim Bajrami joined Rangers in the summer from Sassuolo in a fairly pricey deal, but he has been underwhelming throughout the season.
No one quite knows what Bajrami’s best position is, and he failed to nail down a place in the starting XI this season.
The 26-year-old was handed a start against Aberdeen, but failed to make any sort of impact on the game before he was replaced by Igamane at half time.
Bajrami has been linked with an exit, and he did not show anything to suggest that he has any sort of future at Rangers.
Rangers have to keep Nicolas Raskin
Nicolas Raskin has been one of the better performers in this Rangers side over the course of the season, and he was truly outstanding against Aberdeen.
Raskin created the first two goals, with the assist for Cerny a perfectly weighted through-ball, and the second seeing him tee up Dessers after fine work on the left side just six minutes later.
Nico Raskin | Scottish Premiership (2024-25) |
Games played | 31 |
Games started | 27 |
Goals | 2 |
Assists | 9 |
The Belgian has been linked with an exit, but Rangers must do all they can to keep him, given his creative quality in the middle of the park.

Dessers breaks five-year Rangers record
Dessers has been a figure of criticism this season, but he has continually scored throughout the campaign, and added to his tally again against Aberdeen.
The striker has now scored 26 goals in all competitions this season, and this has now broken a five-year record.
This is the highest goal tally a Rangers player has managed since Alfredo Morelos back in 2020, when the Colombian scored 29 goals across all competitions.
Dessers missed several chances to take the lead, but the 30-year-old has racked up a respectable goal total over the course of the season.
