Sheffield Wednesday share official Danny Rohl update amid fresh Rangers speculation
Rangers have been linked with Sheffield Wednesday boss Danny Rohl as they’re eyeing a new manager this summer.
The San Francisco 49ers are expected to complete the takeover in the coming weeks and kick-start a new era with a different person at the helm.
Kevin Thelwell will be joining and will play a key role in finding the right man for the American consortium.

Rohl “agreement” claim denied by Wednesday
It seems that Rohl wants out of Hillsborough this summer and his recent comments also suggest as much.
He told German media outlet Kicker that he and the Wednesday owner have a “clear agreement” over his future, hinting that a summer exit will be on the cards.
Rangers, who are looking for a new manager, have also been mentioned in the conversation to hire him.

However, a Wednesday spokesperson has denied that there is any such agreement in place for Rohl to leave this summer.
They reiterate that he’s under contract at the club and is still their manager.
It is also believed, per The Star, that any club keen on securing his services will have to pay a large compensation.
Rangers need to touch base with Rohl and see if he wants to move to Ibrox
The German appears increasingly likely to depart Wednesday, sparking interest from the Ibrox outfit, who should urgently explore his availability for Ibrox.
Rohl, under contract until 2027, has hinted at his exit through cryptic comments and expressed ambitions to manage at the highest possible level.
His impressive tenure, rescuing Wednesday from relegation and achieving a mid-table finish, has drawn attention from clubs like Leicester, Southampton, and RB Leipzig, alongside Gers.
With a £5million release clause and a US-led consortium planning Rangers’ future post-takeover, the German’s tactical acumen and youth make him an ideal candidate.
The Ibrox outfit must act swiftly to engage him, as his openness to new challenges and reported discussions with Wednesday’s owner suggest his departure is imminent, offering a prime opportunity to secure a dynamic manager.
