Rangers sold on bid to sign Kevin Boma as £5m+ transfer development leaks

Rangers have been convinced to make a bid to sign Kevin Boma from Estoril in the summer.

The Gers are preparing for yet another busy summer at Ibrox as they step up their hunt for a new head coach.

This has seen Danny Rohl be linked with the role in Govan, with transfer targets also being identified ahead of the window opening.

The latest target to emerge in G51 is Boma as the Light Blues are seemingly sold on the idea of making an offer for the centre-back.

Rangers convinced to make Boma offer

There is a need for a fresh identity and approach moving forward for the Bears ahead of the 49ers’ proposed take over.

With a new manager set to come in soon, ambition has to be shown by the hierarchy in the upcoming window to build a competitive squad.

This is likely to see the Gers target young players on cheap deals who are likely to have a chance of being sold in the future for a sizable profit.

With that in mind, Foot Mercato have reported (9 May) interest from the Light Blues for Estoril defender Boma ahead of the summer.

The Govan club are said to be convinced by the profile of the 22-year-old who is said to be worth a fee in the region of £5million and £6m.

The Togo international has also been linked with a switch to Swiss side FC Basel, who are also expected to make a bid of their own in the coming weeks.

Boma could be ideal signing for Rangers

There is no doubt that the Gers are in need of a change in approach moving into the new campaign after yet another frustrating year.

Celtic have easily won the Scottish Premiership again, and that can’t be allowed to happen again, moving into another season.

The approach to cut this gap will start with a new manager and will continue into the transfer window with potential new signings.

Boma could prove to be a useful addition as a regular starter at Ibrox as Nils Koppen looks to prove himself moving into another summer window.

Given that the defender has made two appearances for his national side, Togo, and an additional 28 since moving to Portugal, there is plenty of experience to work on if he is to move to G51.
