Ferguson expects Raskin exit in major transfer development
Derek Ferguson has issued his verdict on Nicolas Raskin sealing a Rangers exit this summer.
The Belgium international has been among the first names on the team sheet for both Philippe Clement and Barry Ferguson at Ibrox.
This term, he has made 45 appearances for Gers in all competitions.

Ferguson believes Raskin’s agent is already plotting his exit
Ferguson believes that the midfielder probably wants Rangers to cash in on his services this summer.
In his view, the 24-year-old’s agent could already be looking at potential destinations for his client, including a move down south to a Premier League side.
The former Gers midfielder also believes that he’s only performing to get himself a move this summer, as he’s always seen the Ibrox outfit as a stepping stone for a move to England.

Speaking on Open Goal, Ferguson said at 54:58: “That’s probably what Raskin wants (for Rangers to cash in).
“You start to think, well, his agent’s been in touch or a bit interested down south. That’s why he’s performing. All of a sudden he’s injury free. He’s changed his diet and all.
“You start to wonder, and he did say when he first came, he felt that this was a stepping stone for a move to England.”
Rangers could look to cash in on Raskin at the right price
Rangers must seize the opportunity to sell Raskin if a £20million offer materialises, as their history of holding onto players past their peak value has consistently weakened their financial position.
Raskin, acquired for £1.7million in 2023, has shone domestically and internationally, boosting his market value significantly.
However, Gers’ past reluctance to sell stars like Alfredo Morelos, Ryan Kent, and Jack Butland at their peak led to missed profits, with players either leaving for minimal fees or free, exacerbating annual losses exceeding £80million since 2012.
With UEFA’s squad cost ratio rules tightening and the Ibrox outfit in the red since returning, cashing in on Raskin’s high stock, potentially a tenfold profit, could fund squad reinvestment and ease financial strain.
Failing to act risks repeating costly mistakes, as the 24-year-old’s value could dip if form or injuries falter, further jeopardising the club’s precarious accounts.
