Danny Rohl emerges as ‘wildcard’ for Rangers new manager role as he speaks out
Danny Rohl looks to be in the running to become the new manager of Rangers.
The German currently finds himself at Sheffield Wednesday, where he has been highly rated throughout his spell at Hillsborough.
This saw the Owls avoid relegation with ease in the Championship this season, finishing 12th on 58 points, nine points clear of the bottom three.
Looking ahead to the summer, there is every chance that Rohl could be on the move, with Rangers emerging as a potential destination.

Rohl speaks out after Rangers interest
With Barry Ferguson currently in temporary charge of the Light Blues, a new head coach is high up on the agenda in Govan right now.
This comes in the midst of a takeover bid from the 49ers, who appear to be edging closer to completing a deal to come in at Ibrox ahead of the new season.
The US consortium will have a big job on their hands to choose a new head coach when the interim boss leaves in the coming weeks.
This has seen the Daily Record report (9 May) that Rohl is emerging as a wildcard to take up the role in the G51 dugout moving into the summer.
This comes with prior links to Red Bull and subsequently the 49ers after the defender started his coaching career with RB Leipzig in Germany.
With that in mind, the 36-year-old has spoken out to Kicker, transcribed by the Daily Record, about the 49ers’ outfit Leeds United after their promotion.
He said: “I’m excited about Leeds, who, in my opinion, have been the best team this season. They have an incredible fan base.
“They also have a great German coach, whom I really like. And I hope they can break the barrier.”
This sort of public address to the Elland Road side could stand the German head coach in good stead for a “wildcard” move to Govan ahead of the new campaign.

Rohl could represent real coup for Rangers
The Light Blues are in desperate need of identity and a long-term vision under a head coach with ideas of how to build a football club.
There is no doubt that the German could prove to be exactly that after a terrific spell in the Championship with Sheffield Wednesday.

Rohl came in with the Owls struggling and has managed to return them to being a stable outfit in the English second-tier in his 19 months in charge.
This could see other options like Steven Gerrard be placed on the back burner as the 36-year-old represents a potentially top coach for the Gers.
