Alan Brazil agrees with Agbonlahor after Rangers and Celtic claim on talkSPORT
Gabriel Abonlahor spoke about the success Rangers have found via the Europa League this season in comparison to what Celtic achieved in the Champions League.
All in all, it has been a season to forget for Rangers, and the only solice they will take from it is the run they had in the Europa League.
The Light Blues made it to the quarter-finals of the competition before crashing out at the hands of Athletic Bilbao, who find themselves behind Manchester United.
However, the Gers will be afforded another shot at one of Europe’s top competitions, with Agbonlahor discussing what they achieved in their recent run.

Rangers could be set for another Europa League campaign
With Rangers due to finish second in the Scottish Premiership, they will qualify for the qualifying rounds of the Champions League, but if a similar fate awaits them next season, they may drop down into the Europa League.
As for Celtic, a Champions League place seems as though it beckons, and Alan Brazil made the comparison between them, Tottenham and Man United live on talkSPORT (8 May, 6:51 am).
“If it’s Man United or Spurs, are they better equipped for the Champions League than Celtic next season?
“Do you think Celtic would have been more equipped for a Europa League run like Rangers have been? Celtic would get to a semi-final of the Europa League, to which Brazil replied “yes.”

“Look at the great runs Rangers have had in recent years in the Europa League, imagine what Celtic would do in that competition.”
Rangers will, of course, have a huge summer ahead of them, and if they can recruit well, there is every chance that they make it into the Champions League, or have an even better chance of going all the way in the Europa League.”
European success is huge for Scottish clubs
First and foremost, the further these sides get in European competitions, the more likely the coefficient will improve.
Rangers can certainly go one step further in the future, but they need to get decisions off the pitch right, and they have failed to do so recently.
With the future of Ferguson up in the air, the coming months are going to be crucial for the Light Blues as they look to kick on and get back to being a side capable of competing domestically with Celtic.
