Rangers set for ‘Foolish’ new manager appointment after what Ferguson said
Rangers fans still do not know who will be their next permanent manager, following Barry Ferguson’s interim spell in charge at Ibrox.
Ferguson returned to Rangers to replace Philippe Clement until a successor was found, but with an upcoming change in ownership, no decision has been made yet.
Rangers have endured a dismal season under both managers, and while Ferguson has pulled off some impressive results in isolation, he is yet to win at Ibrox.
The former Rangers captain has now expressed his desire to be handed the job permanently, but this potential decision has been slammed.

Ferguson appointment at Rangers slammed
Ferguson recently stated that while he thinks he is ready to take the Rangers job permanently, the decision is out of his hands.
The 49ers Enterprises are closing in on a takeover of Rangers, and the new executives will decide his fate in the coming weeks.
Speaking live on talkSPORT, Simon Jordan slammed the idea of Ferguson keeping the job permanently.
“It depends how foolish they are. If they want to be unsuccessful, then give him the job,” he replied.
Jim White then claimed that Jordan’s assessment was a “bit cruel,” before Jordan went on to explain his reasoning.
“You’re getting beat by St Mirren at home and Hibernian. Predominantly, I don’t think anything’s been better than his predecessor, Clement.

“There was nothing in his track record which indicated that he would be a successful Rangers manager, apart from the fact that he played for them.
“Do you put Barry Ferguson in the dugout, and say that he’s better than Brendan Rodgers? You’re not competing with the league, you’re competing with Rodgers.
“What advantages are you going to have with Ferguson because he kicked a ball for you once?”
Rangers need to hire an experienced manager
Although Ferguson is popular among Rangers fans, given his legendary spell as a player, the Ibrox club needs to move in a different direction.
With a whole new ownership and executive team coming in, Rangers have the perfect opportunity to embark on a huge rebuild from top to bottom.
A new manager could come in and bring fresh ideas, and Rangers should aim for someone of Marco Rose’s pedigree, rather than an interim choice that fell into the role.
Ferguson has not done enough in his spell as interim boss to suggest he can turn around Rangers’ fortunes next season, and it would be a huge risk to keep him on beyond the summer.
His side did beat Fenerbahce and Celtic, but their other domestic results have been bitterly disappointing, and a change is necessary in the summer.
