Lovenkrands sends warning to Rangers after what he’s heard about 49ers takeover
Rangers supporters are desperate for the conclusion of the campaign in the hope that the 49ers Enterprises will have completed a takeover by then.
After what has been a dismal season in Glasgow, the news of investment from America has certainly been a boost at Ibrox, suggesting better times are ahead.
Celtic breezed to the Scottish Premiership title this season, despite Rangers showing their ability to overcome their opponents on multiple occasions.

Peter Lovenkrands reins in Rangers
If the 49ers can complete their takeover at Ibrox, there is expected to be increased investment in the squad going forward.
This would undoubtedly allow the Light Blues to compete with Celtic at the top of the table once more, looking at the possibility of winning more consistently.
This is all that supporters want to see at Ibrox, a team that tries and offers the right standard of competition to win silverware.
However, while the 49ers are expected to solve these issues, Rangers supporters may have to be patient in their wait for change.
Peter Lovenkrands has warned supporters not to get too far ahead of themselves, revealing what the new owners will need to do, as he told the Daily Record: “The job they’ve [49ers] got on their hands is huge. And I don’t even think that’s just players.
“It’s the whole club. From what I see on the outside and from what I’m hearing, there’s a big overhaul that needs to be done all the way through the club.
“It’s a big task ahead for whoever takes over, who has to put their own stamp on things and try to change it.
“It’s going to be big. So it’ll be very interesting to see what direction they’re going to go in because I think there’s a lot of changes that need to be made.”

Rangers can wait for takeover to pay off
Although it may be frustrating having to see slow progress once the 49ers take over to comply with financial rules, supporters have to remember what they have been subjected to of late and appreciate what’s to come.
The Gers may need several seasons before they can really get back to the top and start pushing for the league title, but as long as significant improvement and investment is on display, that is what has to matter to the supporters.
Team | Position | Goal Difference | Points |
Celtic | 1 | 80 | 85 |
Rangers | 2 | 33 | 68 |
As Lovenkrands says, there is plenty that needs changing in Glasgow, and there will surely be a mass overhaul both on and off the pitch.
The fact that appointments such as Kevin Thelwell are already being put in place is promising news and shows serious signs from the new investors.
However, expectations do need to be managed as the hunt for sustainable progress is made.
