Dave King shares inside knowledge of 49ers takeover bid at Rangers
Rangers supporters are eagerly awaiting an announcement of the 49ers Enterprises having completed a takeover at Ibrox.
Since the news of interest from the American investors was first mooted, supporters have been excited about what’s to come in the hope that it could boost the Gers back towards the top of the Scottish Premiership.
Naturally, deals like this one always carry a risk of not being completed with so much to be ironed out before an agreement can be made.
However, Dave King has revealed what the likelihood of a deal going through is.

Rangers have to wait for 49ers confirmation
Rangers are not having a good time of things either on or off the pitch this season, which has been created by mismanagement from those at the top.
The Gers have ended up with a squad that is not up to the levels that a Rangers side should be, which has not been helped by poor transfer windows for too long at Ibrox.
Therefore, it’s no surprise that those in the stands are crying out for this takeover to go through, with it becoming clear that progress will be limited under the current ownership.

There is still some way to go, and supporters cannot get ahead of themselves before anything is confirmed, but King has given supporters something to smile about in a new update.
Speaking live on talkSPORT (7 May, 11:49 am), King said: “I would say that there’s a 90 per cent probability that it [the takeover] will happen.
“These discussions have been going on for a long time, about six months ago was the first time I chatted to Andrew [Cavanagh] to see if there was a basis of getting a deal done that would work with both parties and along the way, like with any neogitatons like these, there were times where it was probably touch and go.
“If you ask me where we are now in terms of legals being signed, in terms of the type of conditions precedent that still have to be fulfilled, I would put it at above 90 per cent right now.”
That leaves a 10 per cent chance that the takeover may not happen, which makes great odds.
Rangers have to be patient with 49ers takeover
Although there is still a 10 per cent chance of this deal falling through, this is generally good news for supporters as the deal with the 49ers is looking very likely to happen.
However, no one can get ahead of themselves until everything is confirmed with the former Chairman admitting that it has been touch and go at times.
Once a deal is made, it doesn’t mean that there will be an instant fix at Ibrox either and realistically, the new owners will need time to increase the level of investment and create a sustainable model at Ibrox.
The long-term goal is to be competing at the very top of the Scottish Premiership once more, as well as having the opportunity to play on the best European stages.
That being said, supporters will likely have to settle for baby steps and making a bit of progress at a time to build a new project in Glasgow.
