Neraysho Kasanwirjo ‘to seal permanent Rangers transfer without medical’
Rangers physios will likely be carefully monitoring Neraysho Kasanwirjo as he’s eyeing a first-team return, according to Dr Rajpal Brar.
The Dutchman has not played a senior game for Gers since November 2024, but recently returned for a B Team clash against Celtic.
The injury expert claims that Gers’ attitude on signing him permanently will hinge on how he responds to the increased intensity in training.

Kasanwirjo not expected to need another medical if he signs permanently
Before getting injured, the 23-year-old showed plenty of promise playing as a right-back and centre-back.
While no decision has been made about signing him in the summer, in case Rangers decide to go ahead with their buy option, they’re not likely to have another medical for him.

Speaking about this situation, Dr Brar, a doctor in physical therapy and a sports scientist, exclusively told Ibrox News: “The club’s attitude towards re-signing him may depend on the injury specifics and how he responds to the ramp up process.
“A new ownership regime coming in throws in another variable in the process beyond simply fitness.
“In case he does sign, as he’ll be monitored constantly by the club’s physios, he will not require another medical.
“It’s a positive that he’s back for the B team as well.“

Rangers could do with Kasanwirjo in the backline next season
Gers should sign Kasanwirjo permanently to secure a versatile, young defender who can anchor their backline for years.
At 23, his ability to play across the defence – right-back, centre-back, and left-back – addresses Rangers’ need for flexibility.
His pace, ball-playing ability, and international experience with the Netherlands Under-21s make him a long-term investment, potentially replacing ageing players like James Tavernier and Leon Balogun.
Despite a near-season-ending knee injury, his early performances showed promise, and his likely £1.5million-£2million transfer fee is cost-effective for a player with his potential.
Securing him permanently ensures defensive depth and continuity, critical for Gers’ domestic and European ambitions.
