Rangers to make ‘instant money on Vaclav Cerny’ with transfer call at Ibrox

Vaclav Cerny has been one of the best players at Rangers this season, but his future at Ibrox remains uncertain.

The Czechia international signed for the Gers last summer from Wolfsburg on loan until the end of the current campaign.

As things stand, Cerny will return to the Bundesliga outfit in the coming months, which would be a big blow for the Light Blues.

The Bears have the chance to keep the Wolfsburg loanee at Ibrox permanently by triggering the £5.5million buy option in the original deal, but it remains to be seen whether that’ll happen.

Cerny can be sold for profit after completing permanent Rangers move

Cerny can be sold for a profit after the Gers sign him permanently, Michael Stewart says.

The former Scottish midfielder believes the Light Blues could potentially instantly make money on the 27-year-old forward once they buy him.

Stewart thinks that even if the prospective new manager at Ibrox doesn’t fancy the Czech star, the Glaswegian outfit wouldn’t have a problem selling him after what he’s done this season.

Speaking on the Scottish Football Social Club (5 May), the former Manchester United ace said: “Irrespective of how long this takeover is going to take before it’s confirmed, there needs to be some sort of dialogue with regards to Cerny.

“For that sort of money, even if you were to do the deal, you know straight away if whoever came in doesn’t fancy him, you would still make money on that almost instantly after the season he’s had.”

Kevin Thelwell must force transfer call at Ibrox

Kevin Thelwell will be the next sporting director at Ibrox this summer once his contract at Everton expires.

While the Englishman hasn’t started his duties at the Glaswegian outfit yet, he will arguably have an eye on the situation.

The outgoing Everton chief should force Andrew Cavenagh and 49ers Enterprises’ hands, even if the takeover isn’t complete.

Rangers have a no-brainer choice with Cerny’s transfer, and keeping him ahead of next season would make sense.

It doesn’t matter whether Barry Ferguson will continue at the Light Blues beyond the current campaign, as the prospective new owners must strive to keep the best players.

The potential new head coach could potentially build his team around someone like the Czech national and try to compete with Celtic immediately.

It wouldn’t make sense for the US consortium to miss out on what may be a bargain deal for the 27-year-old at Ibrox.

If Cerny leaves, the Bears will undoubtedly have to replace him, which will cost significant money.
