Dornan fires dig at hosts after what the Ibrox faithful did

Rangers fans sing “Simply The Best” as a way to cheer their team on ahead of games and they did that for the Old Firm derby as well.

Dornan, a hardcore Celtic supporter, jokingly turned this into them singing this to honour Celtic after their recent achievement.

The Hoops secured their 55th league title last week and have now won the same number of top-flight championships as the Ibrox outfit.

Dornan wrote on X: “Fair do’s to Rangers supporters for serenading the champions out with a rousing version of Simply The Best. Class lads.”

Rangers need to strengthen their squad in the summer

Ferguson would likely be thrilled with the majority of his players’ efforts in the Old Firm derby, where they showcased resilience and attacking intent against Celtic.

Taking the lead and dominating the first half at Ibrox demonstrated the squad’s potential to compete in high-stakes matches, reflecting well on key performers who executed Ferguson’s game plan.

The passion and commitment from most of the team would have pleased the Ibrox faithful and the interim boss, who set out to win.

Jefte struggled against Celtic.

However, certain players were underwhelming and they exposed vulnerabilities that could derail Rangers’ title hopes next season.

These shortcomings highlight the need for squad strengthening in the summer transfer window. With the 49ers Enterprises backing the club, targeted signings – particularly a reliable left-back and additional defensive depth – are essential to address recurring weaknesses.

While Ferguson can take pride in his team’s overall display, reinforcing the squad will be crucial to ensure Rangers can consistently challenge Celtic and secure silverware in the 2025-26 season.
