Keith Hackett wants SFA action after Celtic fan incident before kick-off v Rangers
Celtic fans may have landed their club in hot water ahead of the 1-1 draw with Rangers at Ibrox on Sunday.
The final Old Firm game of the season was marred by issues in the stands as Celtic supporters were back in attendance after a two-year absence.
Cyriel Dessers and Adam Idah’s goals in each half meant the two Glasgow rivals couldn’t be separated in their final meeting of a season that could have seen Rangers come out on top in the head-to-head.

Celtic fans let off pyrotechnics in return to Ibrox
Celtic fans were able to attend an Old Firm game at Ibrox for the first time since 2023 when Rangers XXX
However, it didn’t take long before a spot of controversy emerged on Sky Sports’ live coverage of the game when smokebombs appeared to be let off by away supporters.
As Rangers belted out ‘Simply the Best’, green, white and orange plumes of smoke crept their way across Ibrox thanks to those in the away end.
Keith Hackett believes those doing searches at the turnstiles are partly to blame for the issue of pyrotechnics in Scottish football.

However, the former PGMOL general manager ultimately believes it’s something the Scottish FA need to clamp down on more.
“It is evident that the policing of fans at the entrance gates is not up to the desired standard,” Hackett told Ibrox News.
“The Scottish FA need to do more to stop the growth of pyrotechnics inside stadiums.“
Celtic could face SPFL fine after pyrotechnics at Ibrox
In March, the SPFL announced punishments for Rangers, Celtic and Motherwell for the use of pyrotechnics in the Premier Sports Cup semi-finals and final at Hampden Park.
All three clubs were hit with suspended sanctions of 800 tickets for future League Cup games at Hampden Park, with the two Old Firm sides both being hit with an immediate 500 ticket reduction.
As that punishment clearly hasn’t done anything to curb the issue, there’s a chance the authorities will resort to financial sanctions.
