Ferguson ‘must axe Bajrami’ at half-time v Celtic after what Rangers star did

Nedim Bajrami was not at his best despite Rangers going in 1-0 ahead at the break against Celtic on Sunday.

Coming into the Old Firm match, the Gers were 17 points behind their Glasgow rivals but Barry Ferguson‘s side still had plenty to play for at Ibrox (4 May).

Victory would allow them to take momentum into next season, as they will have beaten the Celtic Park outfit three times if they can secure the win.

However, the Albanian international struggled to influence the clash and was a thorn in the Light Blues’ side in the first half before Cyriel Dessers opened the scoring.

Bajrami needs to be hooked at the break

The 26-year-old has had an underwhelming season under both Philippe Clement and Ferguson’s watch.

It was another disappointing display on this occasion as he failed to cause problems for the Bhoys’ defenders.

The 33-cap international had just 15 touches in the whole first 45 minutes and created zero chances, did not record a single shot and had just one touch in the opposition box. [Fotmob]

Rangers need to beat Celtic

The contest means very little for the Gers in terms of their season, they cannot overhaul their arch-rivals in the league as they have already been confirmed as champions.

However, there is still pride to fight for and the chance to win against Brendan Rodgers’ side for a third time this season and show that they can compete with them, they will not do that if Bajrami comes out for the second half.

The Albanian was poor against Celtic.

It promises to be an exciting summer for the Light Blues with the impending takeover by the enterprise arm of the San Francisco 49ers American Football team, led by Andrew Cavenagh and Paraag Marathe.

However, there is still issues to resolve and the bridge to the Hoops will not be bridged immediately, players like Bajrami are not good enough and may need to be replaced if they are to catch their competition at the top of the Scottish game.

The main problem is the uncertainty over Ferguson’s future in the dugout, which leaves the potential transfers, including outgoings, in limbo until it is resolved.
