Rangers transfer ‘war chest’ update with Cavenagh and 49ers set to spend millions
Rangers’ takeover is expected to be completed in the coming weeks as a new era begins at the Ibrox.
After an uninspiring campaign, there is now plenty of optimism surrounding the Gers.
Rangers’ takeover looks set to be completed with the 49ers and Andrew Cavenagh taking the helm
Fans are hopeful that the club can finally overcome their fierce rivals Celtic, after years of them dominating Scottish football.
Now, supporters have finally been told how much the incoming owners will be giving the club in the summer transfer window to spend to achieve this feat.

49ers expected to hand Rangers a ‘decent transfer budget‘
One of the most exciting aspects of the impending takeover, is the wealth that the 49ers boast.
Once they have completed their purchase of the club, Rangers will have the richest owners in Scotland.
With this comes the expectation that money will be spent in the summer to help return the Scottish Premiership title to Ibrox.
However, according to a new update, fans should be wary if they are expecting the manager to receive a warchest this summer.
The Daily Record, page 48, (2 May) believes that while the club will be given a “decent transfer budget”, it will not be like a warchest.
Instead, Leeds United’s approach to the transfer market last summer may give the best indication.
While the Peacocks did spend £32 million, they brought in £162 million in player sales.
This strategy has failed at Rangers in recent years, but with the incoming owners wanting to wipe the club’s eight-figure debt to investors, they are now hoping that they can get this policy up and running.

Rangers must spend wisely this summer
While this policy may not be what many Rangers fans want to hear, it has worked wonders for many clubs throughout Europe.
Brighton and Hove Albion are perhaps the best example, with the Seagulls now regularly battling for Europe.
The 49ers have also already used this strategy successfully at Leeds United, which should give fans more confidence that they can make it work.
However, Rangers must spend their money wisely, as if signings turn out to be poor, then they have only weakened the squad.
