Andrew Cavenagh role post takeover revealed as Rangers deal gathers steam
Andrew Cavenagh and his partners from the San Francisco 49ers are on course to become the next majority owners of Rangers.
The American consortium even visited Ibrox earlier this week as the takeover talks appear to be gathering steam.
While things have not been rubber-stamped yet, the expectation is that the deal will go ahead in the coming weeks.

Cavenagh set for boardroom seat along with one 49ers representative
According to the Record, Cavenagh has been the most frequent visitor to Glasgow from the consortium.
He’s set to be in the directors’ box for Sunday’s Old Firm derby against Celtic, hoping to see Rangers making it three straight wins over their arch rivals.
Cavenagh will have a board seat at the Ibrox outfit and it’s understood that 49ers are also expected to have one.
Whether or not that position is occupied by Paraag Marathe remains to be seen, as he is also the Leeds United chairman and the Yorkshire club will be playing in the Premier League next season.
They’ve also announced plans to expand Elland Road, so that could be something that takes up a lot of his time.

Rangers can benefit a great deal from Cavenagh’s expertise
Cavenagh, a Philadelphia-based health insurance tycoon and co-founder of ParetoHealth, brings a wealth of business acumen and strategic expertise to Rangers following the takeover.
With a proven track record in managing over $8billion in assets, he has demonstrated exceptional financial and operational leadership.
His experience in high-pressure banking and insurance sectors equips him to navigate the complex financial landscape of professional football, ensuring sustainable growth.

Cavenagh’s hands-on approach, evidenced by his frequent visits to Ibrox for negotiations and matches, suggests a commitment to modernising Gers’ operations.
Partnering with the 49ers Enterprises, led by Marathe, he can leverage cutting-edge analytics, scouting networks and commercial strategies from the NFL model, potentially enhancing player recruitment and sponsorship opportunities.
