Rangers takeover round-up: 49ers top dog absent amid latest Ibrox update
Rangers are nearing a takeover from 49ers Enterprises, but nothing has been fully confirmed yet ahead of the end of the season.
The Gers have endured a dismal season which has seen them crash out of all competitions early and even lose five consecutive games at Ibrox.
Rangers are set for major changes in the summer, with a new director, owners and potentially a new manager all arriving.
The takeover is expected to be finalised soon, but there are still issues to sort out in the coming weeks.
Ibrox News has now provided a roundup of the latest news regarding the takeover.

Andrew Cavenagh and 49ers take tour of Ibrox
With speculation continuing to grow over the takeover, 49ers chief Andrew Cavenagh has now been spotted on a tour of Ibrox Stadium with officials from the company.
Paarag Marathe flew in from San Francisco to attend a match at Leeds United, and was also spotted in the building at Ibrox.
The “red carpet” was rolled out for the visitors, with all stadium tours cancelled on the day to facilitate their arrival.
Takeover meeting takes place at Ibrox
It is reported that on Tuesday April 29, a meeting took place between Rangers officials and the 49ers consortium at Ibrox.
Barry Ferguson was not part of the meeting at Rangers, which also saw Leeds director Gretar Steinsson in attendance in Glasgow.
Matches | Wins | Draws | Losses | Goals | Points | Points Per Match |
11 | 4 | 3 | 4 | 22:22 | 15 | 1.36 |
Ferguson is still interim manager, but it is speculated that the 49ers will aim to hire a different permanent head coach once the takeover is completed.

49ers members to attend Rangers v Celtic
The takeover continues to gather speed, but the season has not yet finished for Rangers. They will face Celtic in the final Old Firm of the season on Sunday May 4.
It has been reported that the 49ers are set to continue talks over the takeover in the coming days, and this will see them attend the Old Firm clash at Ibrox.
This may be their first glimpse of the historic derby in the flesh, but there is little jeopardy on this one, with Celtic already champions and Rangers having nothing to play for in the Scottish Premiership.
Jed York absent from Ibrox tour
While several key figures from the 49ers were in attendance at Ibrox for the tour, there was one notable absentee as CEO Jed York was nowhere to be seen.
York is the principal owner of the San Francisco 49ers, and his absence was notable given that the rest of the main heads were at Ibrox.
With a takeover close, perhaps York may be spotted closer to the time of completion, as arguably the most important figure of them all.
