Rangers takeover latest: Big-name 49ers figure absent from Ibrox tour
Rangers welcomed key members of an imminent takeover involving 49ers Enterprises to Ibrox on Tuesday, but there is confusion about the people who were present.
The Light Blues are on the cusp of an American takeover, with Andrew Cavenagh and Paraag Marathe finding a route to acquire a 51 per cent stake in the club.
In a latest update, it emerged that key members of the takeover received a tour of Ibrox from Patrick Stewart and Fraser Thornton on 29 April.
Cavenagh, Marathe, San Francisco 49ers CEO Jed York and 49ers technical director Gretar Steinsson were all said to have been present, as the Gers rolled out the red carpet for them.

York absent from Ibrox tour
However, it has emerged that York was not a part of the group that toured Ibrox on Tuesday, contrary to claims.
The 49ers chief was nowhere to be seen as key members of the takeover received a VIP-guided lookaround of the stadium, according to the Scottish Sun.
However, the newspaper, reporting via their website on Wednesday, shed light on the presence of a relatively unknown figure in the shape of Raminder Dhadwal.
Dhadwal is the director of 49ers Enterprises and Investments, and it only made sense for him to be a part of the group that jetted into Glasgow ahead of a multi-million deal.

Meanwhile, Cavenagh, Marathe and Steinnson were also spotted, as previously reported.
Marathe was notably spotted at Elland Road 24 hours prior, as Leeds United celebrated their promotion to the Premier League with a 4-0 win against Bristol City on Monday, 28 April.

Rangers on cusp of 49ers takeover
It is only a matter of time before the new owners come into power at Rangers, although an official announcement is still a few weeks away.
There are suggestions that the takeover could even drag on until the summer, as the US consortium involving the 49ers rubber stamps the deal.
Nevertheless, this has been a source of excitement for the Rangers faithful, with the club already seeming to benefit from the association.
The Bears are said to be lining up a Scottish record-breaking commercial deal with Red Bull in the wake of the takeover news.
