49ers and Rangers takeover talks continue as exciting Celtic update drops
Rangers rolled out the red carpet for Andrew Cavenagh and Co. at Ibrox on Tuesday as a takeover nears completion.
The Gers and the 49ers put out a joint statement last week, confirming that productive discussions over a takeover have taken place.
Cavenagh and other key members of the deal were then spotted receiving a VIP guided tour of Ibrox from Patrick Stewart and Fraser Thornton on 29 April.
San Francisco 49ers CEO Jed York was said to be in attendance, but that has turned out not to be the case, although 49ers director Raminder Dhadwal was present.

Cavenagh and 49ers members to watch Rangers v Celtic
Those involved in the takeover are expected to hold more discussions with Rangers directors in the coming days, according to the Scottish Sun.
Meanwhile, Cavenagh and Co. will watch Barry Ferguson’s side take on champions Celtic at Ibrox in the final Old Firm derby of the season on Sunday (4 May), as reported by the newspaper via their website.
Paraag Marathe flew in from San Francisco to watch Leeds celebrate their promotion to the Premier League with a 4-0 win against Bristol City at Elland Road on Monday (28 April) before travelling to Glasgow.

The 49ers senior figure is expected to hold talks with Daniel Farke over his future, but will find time to attend the exciting Old Firm clash this weekend.
While Celtic have already sealed the title and Rangers have nothing to play for, witnessing one of the fiercest derbies in football in front of a packed Ibrox crowd is guaranteed to have a profound effect on the incoming owners.
It also offers Ferguson a chance to stake his claim to become the permanent Rangers manager, although the expectation is that Cavenagh and the 49ers will move in a different direction.

Ibrox on cusp of takeover
While the announcement of a takeover may still be way away, everything appears to be heading in the right direction.
It is only a matter of time before Cavenagh and Marathe come into power at Ibrox, with discussions with existing shareholders in Govan turning out positive.
Rangers already appearing to be benefiting from their association with the 49ers, as Red Bull, who is an investor in their project at Leeds, is being lined up as their new shirt sponsor in a record-breaking deal.
