Rangers fans ‘can get excited’ after latest 49ers announcement

Rangers supporters have their sights set on the end of the season, hoping that the 49ers Enterprises can complete a takeover at Ibrox.

It has been a disastrous campaign for the Gers and after being knocked out of the Europa League, there is now nothing to play for in Glasgow.

However, if the American investors can become the new owners of Rangers ahead of the new campaign, supporters will be looking ahead to more optimistic times.

49ers Enterprises make Leeds United announcement

Since the initial announcement of interest in a takeover at Rangers was made, supporters will have felt like they have been waiting forever for progression on a deal at Ibrox.

It seems as though the ball is still moving, albeit slowly, although processes like this are never fast.

In the meantime, the 49ers also have Leeds United issues to focus on, with the other club they own having gained promotion to the Premier League.

Since the 49ers increased their stake in the West Yorkshire club, Paraag Marathe has provided plenty of backing for Daniel Farke and on the second attempt, their achievements were met.

The owners have wasted no time in looking forward to more success, having announced plans to upgrade Elland Road in anticipation of more success in the future.

The plans were officially announced on Monday (28 April) and were met with much excitement among Leeds supporters.

Rangers can get excited by 49ers takeover

It may be Leeds who are getting their moment in the sun right now, but Rangers supporters can look over to Elland Road and take hope from that when it comes to their own future.

Rangers’ league season.

Back in October, it was reported that the current hierarchy at Ibrox had been forced to shelve plans to upgrade the stadium and instead wanted to put resources into Philippe Clement’s squad, which didn’t exactly pay off.

Furthermore, at the start of the campaign, the Light Blues were forced to play their football away from their home stadium as a delayed shipment of materials from China meant developments had to be delayed.

This serves as a reminder that things need improving both on and off the pitch at Rangers and why a takeover is set to be so important in progression.

Although it may take some time to get to the levels that Rangers are hoping to be at, supporters certainly have reasons to be optimistic and if the 49ers do complete a takeover, the stadium upgrades in Glasgow could soon be next.
