Kevin Thelwell ‘issues emerge’ after Sean Dyche development at Rangers
Kevin Thelwell and Sean Dyche could potentially reunite at Rangers after their time at Everton, but certain factors could affect that prospect at Ibrox.
The Englishman will be the Gers’ next sporting director after leaving Goodison Park at the end of the season.
Barry Ferguson’s future at Ibrox looks set as Andrew Cavenagh and 49ers Enterprises appear to be looking elsewhere for a new permanent manager.
Dyche has been linked to the Scottish Premiership outfit, but Thelwell’s imminent arrival may pose issues to the former Burnley manager’s possible appointment.

Dyche hire at Rangers unlikely as relationship with Thelwell not great
Dyche may not be an option to be the Glaswegian outfit’s next manager due to his poor relationship with Thelwell, Scott Burns says.
The Reach journalist revealed that the former Everton head coach and the Bears’ incoming sporting director disagree on player recruitment, which would arguably not be conducive for the Light Blues.
Burns doesn’t feel the Glaswegian outfit will hire the English manager after a disappointing end to his stint at Goodison Park.
Speaking on Hotline Live (28 April), the journalist said: “I don’t think he’s that close to Thelwell. Speaking to people who’ve worked with them both, I don’t think it seems they always see eye to eye in terms of players. Some of the foreign players that came in and didn’t play as much, and maybe playing more under David Moyes.
“I’m not convinced that would be a runner. I could be totally wrong, it’s just the information I was told, based on the end of his time at Goodison Park wasn’t great, and their relationship. Were they both going in the same direction? I don’t know.”
49ers need to hire better manager than Ferguson
Ferguson may have hopes of continuing at Ibrox, but his chances arguably took a hit after the Gers were knocked out of the Europa League.
The former Scotland international didn’t help his cause when the Light Blues once again dropped points in the Scottish Premiership against St Mirren in Paisley on Saturday (26 April).
It isn’t surprising to see the prospective new owners already looking for a new manager to take charge at the Glaswegian outfit next season.
Rangers need someone capable of competing with Brendan Rodgers at Celtic, with the Hoops winning their fourth consecutive league title.

The Gers have had some impressive performances under Ferguson, especially in Europe, but their domestic form has been underwhelming.
While the ex-midfielder brought a sense of positivity around Ibrox when he was hired, it wouldn’t make sense for the experiment to continue.
Supporters will want to see the Bears knock Celtic off their perch immediately after the potential takeover is complete, and the US consortium will evidently be aware of it.
It won’t take long for fans to turn against the Americans if they continue to follow the path of the current regime, which has led to the destabilisation of the Glaswegian outfit, and that’ll require some bold decisions from the incoming hierarchy.
