Chris Jack issues new Vaclav Cerny to Rangers transfer update

Rangers are reportedly keen on signing Vaclav Cerny on a permanent basis in the summer transfer window.

The Czech winger moved to Ibrox at the start of the season and has been one of the best players for them.

He has been among the first names on the team sheet for both Philippe Clement and Barry Ferguson.

Gers unlikely to sign Cerny permanently this summer

The Ibrox outfit will need to shell out a £7million fee if they are to sign the 27-year-old permanently this summer.

Jack admits that by getting the best out of him this season, Rangers have priced themselves out of a deal for the winger.

While there would’ve been a chance of getting his asking rate down further had he not performed well, it’s difficult for them to do so now.

Jack told Rangers Review’s YouTube channel at 26:37: “I think the finances just won’t stack up on that one. think he’s on too much money. He has been too impressive.

“Unfortunately, Rangers have a habit of getting guys in on loan rather than permanent deals. They get them in on loan, they’re very impressive and they almost play themselves out of contention.

“It would be a statement of intent from the new board if they said, ‘Look there’s £7million, go and spend it on Vaclav Cerny.’

“I think he’ll move on. I will be surprised if they see that as a priority deal.”

Rangers may still sign Cerny if the new manager demands it

If Rangers’ incoming manager prioritises signing Vaclav Cerny permanently, the 49ers Enterprises, as the club’s owners, must sanction the deal to enable the manager to build a cohesive team around the dynamic winger.

Cerny has shown flashes of brilliance with his pace, flair and goal-scoring ability, making him a potential cornerstone for Gers’ attacking ambitions.

His versatility to play across the front line offers tactical flexibility, ideal for a manager aiming to implement a high-pressing, possession-based system.

Securing the Czech winger permanently would signal the 49ers’ commitment to backing the new manager’s vision, especially amid a looming squad exodus and the need for stability.

Building around a proven talent like Cerny could galvanise the team, attract complementary signings and restore fan confidence after a challenging period.

The 49ers must weigh the transfer fee against Cerny’s long-term value, as his presence could elevate Rangers in the Scottish Premiership and Europe.

By prioritising this deal, the ownership would empower the manager to craft a squad tailored to their philosophy, with Cerny as the linchpin for success.
