Lizzie Arnot makes Rangers title admission after Hibernian blow
Lizzie Arnot has urged her Rangers teammate to bounce back from the defeat to Hibernian last time out.
The Gers were defeated 2-0 on 20 April as Hibs leapfrogged them to lead the Scottish Women’s Premier League with five games remaining.
However, the title is still in the Light Blues’ hands as they face the Edinburgh outfit on the final gameday, in what could be a decider and Arnot is aware of that.

Arnot makes title admission after Rangers’ loss
The 29-year-old has won the title before with Rangers Women in the 2021-22 campaign, so she knows what it takes to taste success.
The forward has called on her teammates to keep up the intensity and not make any more mistakes with the title race being so close.
Speaking to the club’s official website (26 April), she said: “We have only got five league games left and it is important that every game we treat it the same with the same intensity and we don’t come off that, we don’t want to slip up again.
“It is up to us to make sure that we are not making the slip-ups to benefit other teams.
“We need to be winning every game and that is still in our hands, that is our aim.”

Rangers can still win the league
Jo Potter‘s side can still secure the league title, as they are just two points behind the leaders with five matches left to play.
They will have extra motivation for their home matches with both set to be played at Ibrox, the Glasgow City clash will be played in the Govan ground on April 30.
Scottish Women’s PL | Played | GD | Points |
1. Hibernian | 27 | +62 | 64 |
2. Rangers | 27 | +105 | 62 |
The potential blockbuster finale against their title rivals will also be at Ibrox on May 18, giving the Bears the chance to lift the trophy at the iconic stadium if they can match the Meadowbank Stadium outfit’s results until then and then defeat them.
The Gers need to respond exactly as Arnot has detailed if they are to get back on track and reach their ambitions and overhaul Grant Scott’s side as the season comes to a conclusion.
If they fail to do so and slump to any more defeats, their chances of lifting the title at Ibrox will be minimal and Arnot and her teammates will be left very disappointed.
Focus is on the Scottish Cup semi-final on 27 April with Aberdeen at Hampden Park, but it will quickly be back on the league and hopefully securing a second title and potentially a double for the first time in the club’s history.
