Simon Jordan scolds ‘absurd’ Rangers after what he heard in Ibrox boardroom
Rangers’ boardroom issues have been a constant thorn in their side in recent years.
Constant fighting between shareholders has hampered the Ibrox club on the pitch, with arch-rivals Celtic now 15 points ahead in the Scottish Premiership.
Gers supporters will be desperate for the enterprise arm of the San Francisco 49ers NFL franchise to complete their takeover and bring the Govan club together.

Jordan slams the Rangers board for what he heard
The backroom issues at Rangers have been well-documented for a number of years and the 49ers group should bring a new hope that problems can be sorted.
However, Simon Jordan has revealed that he is not a fan of the board at the Auchenhowie outfit due to something that he heard in the boardroom.
Speaking on talkSPORT (25 April, 10:43 am), he said: “I would imagine if they are going to put some money behind Rangers, and some proper thinking that seems to have, with all due respect, evaded the current board.
“When we sat in that boardroom, I was disappointed with the low-resolution thinking that I thought from a massive football club, I just think they were small-minded.
“I think the arguments over whether you should have a major sponsor for the league, because you can’t have one because Rangers owners own a car garage, I think, is absurd.”
Rangers need to get it right this summer
The 49ers have a major task on their hands in the summer to fix the issues in Govan, with the future of Barry Ferguson being the most pressing issue.
However, they will also need a significant overhaul of the playing squad as it is nowhere near the quality required to catch Celtic at the moment, with only a few star players.
Scottish Premiership | Played | GD | Points |
1. Celtic | 33 | +75 | 81 |
2. Rangers | 33 | +33 | 66 |
Their task may be even harder if Hamza Igamane and Nicolas Raskin attract interest from clubs south of the border, as it will be a struggle to hold onto them.
The Americans should bring a stronger financial footing and also more stability, ending the constant arguing between shareholders but it will not be a perfect solution straight away and there will likely be issues as they get used to Scottish football.
However, there is a hope surrounding the Light Blues that has been missing for a considerable amount of time, at the very least since Steven Gerrard lifted the title in the 2020-21 season but there was still issues back then.
Hopefully, the new era can restore the Bears to glory on a more permanent basis, but it may take a couple of years before that is a realistic option, given the mess that they have to fix before that.
