Rangers transfer news: Update emerges on ex-Wolves defender Jonny Otto
Rangers will be looking to add to their ranks in the summer transfer window, with the takeover expected to be finalised by then.
Left-back has been an area that Gers could look to find an upgrade in, given their struggles in that role this season.
Ridvan Yilmaz has endured an injury-ravaged season, while Jefte has been inconsistent with his form.

Jonny Otto will be available on a free transfer
While not explicitly stating an interest from the Ibrox outfit, Daily Record’s Ryan McDonald has hinted at a potential move for former Wolves defender Jonny Otto.
This comes after Gers secured the services of Kevin Thelwell, who formerly worked at Wolves, as their sporting director.
He will play a huge role in recruitment this summer and could use his past connections in the game to bring in new players at Ibrox.

Speaking about Otto’s potential links, McDonald wrote: “Former Spain international Jonny made over a century of appearances for Wolves across his six years at the club before heading to PAOK in 2024.
“Capable of playing either left or right-back, the 31-year-old has been a regular for Greek side PAOK and would be an upgrade on Jefte and Rivan Yilmaz.
“Of course, there would be no sell-on value but on a free transfer, he would add quality and experience to the Ibrox rearguard.”

Rangers must explore Otto’s services this summer
Otto would be a valuable signing for Gers due to his versatility, experience, and proven quality at high levels.
The 31-year-old Spanish full-back, who can play on either flank, brings a wealth of experience from over 200 La Liga appearances with Celta Vigo and 100-plus Premier League games with Wolves, where he was a consistent performer under Nuno Espirito Santo.
His ability to adapt to both defensive and wing-back roles would provide tactical flexibility for Rangers, especially in their pursuit of the Scottish Premiership title.
Otto’s defensive solidity, combined with his attacking contributions, makes him a well-rounded option.
Despite recent injuries, his move to PAOK in 2024 showed he can still compete at a high level.
With Gers needing depth amid injuries, Otto’s experience and professionalism could stabilise their backline and boost their title challenge.
