Jim White shares Rangers takeover news that’ll be ‘music to the ears’ of fans

Jim White has issued a verdict on the Rangers takeover as he shared a reveal that is bound to excite supporters at Ibrox.

The San Francisco 49ers are looking to finalise a deal in Govan within the coming weeks, although nothing has been completed yet.

The NFL giants are keen on acquiring a majority stake in G51 ahead of the new campaign and look to have taken a step forward in their mission to do so.

With that in mind, White has shared a fresh update which is likely to pique the ears of the Gers fanbase ahead of the end of the season.

White reveals financial boost in Rangers takeover bid

The Light Blues have struggled for years as Old Firm rivals Celtic have continued to move away from them in the Scottish Premiership race.

This has culminated in Barry Ferguson’s side being left 15 points behind the Hoops with just five games remaining in the league.

As a result, the prospect of a takeover could be the catalyst to bridge the gap between the two sides as the Govan club look to challenge for the title.

This has to start with a financial boost to better the squad and facilities at Ibrox but that does look set to be included as White shared an update live on talkSPORT (24 April, 10:43am).

He said: “They’re looking to take over at Rangers, this could just be what they need. The injection of additional capital will be music to the fans’ ears, I would have thought.”

Rangers fans to be delighted with financial boost

It is fair to say that Celtic are far and away ahead of the Gers in terms of finances, which has seen them be able to make big money signings in recent years.

This saw Arne Engels sign at Parkhead in the summer for £11million while Nedim Bajrami was the most expensive move in Govan at just £3.4m.

This sums up the difference between the two sides right now but the introduction of Marathe and the 49ers could have a telling impact.

The Light Blues need something to change, and that could be set to kick start with the change in ownership and an increase in cash off the pitch.
