Ianis Hagi ‘time’s up at Ibrox’ as Rangers told to get rid by ex-teammate
Rangers may look to part ways with Ianis Hagi in the summer transfer window after what has been an uneventful campaign for the Romanian.
Rangers‘ season is over. They have nothing left to play for domestically, and a defeat against Athletic Club ended any hopes they had left of winning silverware under Barry Ferguson.
With that in mind, planning will have already started at Ibrox across several departments to make the changes needed to progress next season.
Not only will Barry Ferguson’s successor need to be identified swiftly, but the recruitment of incoming players and the exits of current players will also need to be considered, and Hagi’s future will be one of the decisions made in Glasgow.

Scott Arfield tips Hagi for summer exit from the Light Blues
Hagi has had a rather frustrating season for Rangers for several different reasons. The Romanian probably hasn’t received as much gametime as he would have liked, but at the same time, he hasn’t shown enough on the occasions he has been afforded the chance.
The Rangers playmaker has already been in talks over an exit from Ibrox this summer, and Scott Arfield thinks that his time as a Light Blue player is approaching the end.
Rangers | Games | Goals | Assists |
Hagi | 23 | 4 | 5 |
Writing via the Daily Record, the former Rangers star said: “He’ll be a big miss with his technical ability. I could never work out which of his feet was his strongest. Ianis can not only strike a ball as well with his left foot as his right – as we saw at Pittodrie last week – but he can dribble off both sides with equal ease.
“But with his deal expiring after a wages wrangle at the start of the season, it’s probably time for a parting of the ways.”
As much quality has he has, it feels like Hagi will certainly be on his way out of Rangers this summer, though it will leave a gap that will need to be filled once the window opens.

Rangers have no margin for error this summer
Ever since the departure of Steven Gerrard, who has already been tipped for a sensational return to Rangers, they have looked light years away from competing with Celtic domestically, and that needs to change as a matter of urgency.
Recruitment will be crucial, especially with several players expected to depart from Ibrox in the coming months.
After the failures of the current campaign, the Light Blues cannot afford to make a single step in the right direction, showcasing the need for early plans to be initiated.
