Rangers takeover twist emerges amid Park’s Motor Group deal

Four Lads Had a Dream’s Stevie Clifford has issued a verdict on the Rangers takeover as he addressed the qualms of a few fans.

Park’s Motor Group, which is founded and owned by Douglas Park, entered into a long-term commercial partnership with Gers back in 2023.

Park owns 11.54 per cent stake in the Ibrox outfit, making him the second-largest single stakeholder in the club.

Parks not causing issues with the San Francisco 49ers’ takeover

Clifford was asked about the sponsorship agreement with the Parks and there was a mention of a £500k figure.

In his view, there is zero chance that the Parks are making this takeover difficult over a paltry six-figure fee.

In order for the 49ers to acquire 51 per cent stake in Rangers, a number of shareholders have to part ways with all or most of their shareholding to make the deal happen.

Via X, Clifford wrote: “Do we know it’s £500k? Pretty sure it’s not which is why I asked. There is zero chance the Parks are making this takeover difficult over that point.

“Can I ask you a honest question? Do you genuinely think the Parks would play hardball, over a takeover potentially troubling it, all for £500k?!”

Rangers fans must remain patient as everything is still on track

Rangers fans are understandably eager for a takeover announcement, but patience is crucial as these processes are inherently complex and time-consuming.

The Ibrox outfit’s fragmented ownership, with multiple shareholders holding significant stakes, adds layers of difficulty.

Negotiations must align diverse interests, navigate legal and financial intricacies, and ensure compliance with regulatory bodies.

Due diligence alone can take months, as potential buyers assess the club’s finances, contracts and infrastructure. Rushing risks destabilising the club or landing an unsuitable owner.

While the wait is frustrating, a thorough process is vital to secure a stable, long-term future for Gers.

Fans should trust that behind-the-scenes work is progressing, even if updates are scarce, to avoid compromising the club’s legacy.
