Hugh Keevins amazed at what he’s told about 49ers takeover at Rangers
Rangers are looking ahead to the summer transfer window in the hopes of the 49ers Enterprises completing a takeover at Ibrox.
It has been a torrid domestic season for the Gers, who sit 15 points behind Celtic in the table with only Europa League football left to fight for.
After the dismissal of Philippe Clement as manager, Barry Ferguson stepped into his place on an interim basis until the end of the campaign.
However, what the future holds after that is unknown. One thing is for sure, though, is that if Andrew Cavanagh can complete his takeover at Ibrox, the future will be a lot more ambitious.

Hugh Keevins reacts to takeover claim
They may have had a tough season domestically but Rangers have got past Celtic on a number of occasions which is a silver lining.
Should the takeover be completed, the Light Blues will be looking ahead to the new campaign with the hopes of competing at the top of the table again and pushing Celtic.
Team | Position | Goal Difference | Points |
Celtic | 1 | 75 | 81 |
Rangers | 2 | 33 | 66 |
Supporters have been warned not to get too far ahead of themselves with time being crucial for building a sustainable and long-term future.
Nevertheless, in comparison to where the Glasgow outfit finds itself now, a new future would of course look bright.
According to one Celtic supporter, though, those in Light Blue should be reigning themselves in as he told Clyde 1 Superscoreboard (15 April) that he doesn’t believe the takeover rumours for a minute, pointing the finger at respected journalist Hugh Keevins for putting the exaggerated stories out there.
A smiling Keevins was quick to clap back on the side of the Bears, however, as he told the caller: “How do you know that? You’ve accused me of not knowing what’s going on, how do you know this?
“I’ll take your call when it happens and I hope that you will be man enough to call in when this takes place. Thank you and goodbye.”

Rangers have bigger fish to fry first
It’s no surprise that Rangers supporters will be looking ahead to the end of the season with the hope of an exciting summer ahead.
However, to start with, Ferguson’s men have a Europa League second-leg tie to face, away at Athletic Bilbao on Thursday (17 April).
The Gers got through the home leg unscathed which was quite an achievement given Robin Propper received an early red card and Liam Kelly had a penalty to face.
Therefore, going into the away leg with no advantage is not an easy task but a show against Fenerbahce in the last round showed that Rangers do have it in them.
After such a disastrous season, any success in this competition would be welcome ahead of what will hopefully be better times ahead.
