Rangers fans ‘set for frenzy’ with transfer developments after takeover
Rangers are already looking ahead to a huge summer at Ibrox.
Andrew Cavenagh and the 49ers Enterprises are looking to get their takeover finalised as soon as possible, with eyes on big changes in Glasgow.
Barry Ferguson is currently on an interim contract in charge of the Auchenhowie club, but that could all change in a matter of weeks in Govan.

Rangers set for massive changes
Dan Plumley has insisted that, without trying to cause a frenzy for fans, several transfers could lead to another squad overhaul at Ibrox.
The football finance expert believes that after another disappointing season, there could be plenty of activity on and off the pitch through Cavenagh and the 49ers.
“I think potentially, yes,” Plumley exclusively told Ibrox News when asked about another busy summer.
“I think you have to temper expectations, saying these things, because it can stir fans into a bit of a frenzy.
“If you just look under the surface a little bit, and let’s assume that a takeover will be done and in place, look at the season they’ve had, on the pitch, it has not hit the heights of where they wanted to be.
“There will be that churn of the squad, there will be new people coming in with new plans for that squad moving forward, so there could be a fair bit of activity at Rangers over the summer linked to all of this and planning ahead for the new season.”

Nils Koppen on chopping block
While he can point to successful transfers like Hamza Igamane, Mohamed Diomande and Nicolas Raskin, Koppen could be facing heavy scrutiny if another season like this follows.
Decent signings that set up future profit mean nothing if you’re not delivering the silverware that a club like Rangers demands consistently, watching Celtic lift them instead.
Team | Position | Goal Difference | Points |
Celtic | 1 | 75 | 81 |
Rangers | 2 | 33 | 66 |
Celtic have lost plenty of games themselves this season, including two Old Firms, yet they are still 15 points ahead and about to seal another Scottish Premiership.
That is not good enough, and it is about time it changes, starting this summer with plenty of smart business, not a complete waste.
