Kris Boyd makes Rangers title joke at Chris Sutton after draw v Aberdeen
Rangers left it late again after earning a point in a 2-2 draw against Aberdeen in the 96th minute on Sunday afternoon.
Barry Ferguson made several changes to his Rangers squad for the trip as he rested players in preparation for Thursday’s Europa League game at Bilbao.
The Gers did not have an easy ride with Ross McCausland receiving a red card in the 40th minute with his side 1-0 down at the time, leaving an uphill battle to climb.
Nevertheless, Ianis Hagi came up with the goods in the final seconds of injury time to earn his side a point and create some momentum to take into Europa League action.

Kris Boyd jokes at Chris Sutton
It has been a disastrous season for Rangers, who only have the Europa League left to play for this season, with 15 points separating them and Celtic at the top of the table.
Although the Light Blues have won twice against their rivals in the Scottish Premiership, that has meant little in the grand scheme of things.
Nevertheless, the Bears got another win against them as their 2-2 draw with Aberdeen stopped their opponents from being able to win the title.
If Rangers had lost the game, which they looked incredibly likely to do, it would have crowned Brendan Rodgers’ side as champions of the Scottish Premiership.
Team | Position | Played | Won | Drawn | Lost |
Celtic | 1 | 33 | 26 | 3 | 4 |
Rangers | 2 | 33 | 20 | 6 | 7 |
Although it is still just a matter of time, Celtic man Chris Sutton was left irritated by the result as he poked at Ferguson’s men for celebrating draws.
Kris Boyd was quick to clap back on Sky Sports Scotland (13 April) with his own remark, though, as he joked with his fellow pundit: “The title race is still on.
“Still on. Still a chance, still a chance.”

Rangers preparing for Europa League action
Rangers winning the league is possible, although the season would have to take a momentous turn for that to happen, which is very unlikely.
Nevertheless, the Gers do have the chance to earn something worth smiling about, if they can get past Athletic Bilbao in their Europa League quarter-final on Thursday.
Ferguson made a sensible choice to rest his players in preparation, and given his side defied the odds to get past Fenerbahce, there is no reason why they can’t produce the same levels again.
The Gers certainly would have wanted to come away from Ibrox in better shape, but given they played the majority of the game with 10 men and Liam Kelly had to save a penalty, a draw was a good result.
Now the challenge is taking that momentum into the next leg and pulling something out of the bag.
As supporters look ahead to the summer with the hope of a takeover by the 49ers Enterprises, ending this term on a high note would certainly soften the blow of the campaign a bit.
