Rangers to ‘accept good offer’ for Nico Raskin after Ibrox contract development

Nico Raskin has stood out at Rangers this season, and they may have to cash in on him in the upcoming transfer window.

The 24-year-old has been one of the best players at the Gers despite their poor campaign, and it wouldn’t be surprising to see top teams come knocking for his signature next summer.

Aston Villa and Leeds United have shown interest in the midfielder, but it remains to be seen whether the Light Blues will cash in on him.

Raskin recently made his debut for Belgium, and his value is arguably at an all-time high, giving the Glaswegian outfit a potentially tricky decision to make in the coming months.

Rangers should sell Raskin next summer with his contract expiring soon

Raskin should be sold by the Bears in the upcoming transfer window, Jonny McFarlane says.

While the Scottish journalist believes the Belgian national is someone the Gers should build their team around, his contractual situation makes a sale sensible.

McFarlane feels that with two years left on the 24-year-old midfielder’s contract, the Light Blues may accept a good offer for him in the coming months.

The journalist wrote in the Rangers Review (11 April): “Raskin is the man the team should be built around, but with two years left on his contract and no sign of renewal, the time to sell is the summer.

“He’s already shown he’s willing to run down a deal in Belgium, and Rangers must break the cycle of losing stars for nothing. Sadly, I’d wager he goes if a good offer comes in.”

49ers Enterprises have massive decision to make on Raskin transfer at Ibrox

Andrew Cavengah and 49ers Enterprises are close to completing their takeover at the Glaswegian outfit and will have massive decisions to make once they arrive.

The US consortium will have to assess Barry Ferguson’s future at Ibrox before making any changes to the squad next summer.

It will be imperative to see who the next permanent will want to keep at the Gers before strategising for the upcoming transfer window.

Rangers will undoubtedly receive offers for Raskin soon, and the prospective new owners will undoubtedly have a dilemma at Ibrox.

While the Belgian international’s sale could potentially alleviate some of the Light Blues’ financial worries, his pivotal role on the team is undeniable.

The Americans will arguably want to compete with Celtic once they arrive and they’ll need to keep the best players at the Bears in order to do so.

Some essential months are ahead for the Glaswegian outfit, and it will be interesting to see how they navigate them.
