Rangers news: Huge Ianis Hagi exit twist emerges

Rangers attacker Ianis Hagi has been linked with an Ibrox exit in the summer transfer window.

The Romania international appeared set to leave ahead of the 2024/25 season, but ended up staying put in Glasgow.

He was in a contract stand-off with the Ibrox outfit which saw him not playing the first few months of the campaign.

Gers exit on the cards for Hagi as he’s prepared to leave

It’s understood that the 26-year-old is prepared to leave the Gers once the transfer window opens, according to Spot Media on 11 April.

His agents have begun work on a move away from Ibrox and an exit is certainly on the cards for the talented winger.

Rangers have not shown any signs of wanting Hagi to stay beyond the end of the season and are expected to part ways with him.

As his deal runs out at the end of the current campaign, the Light Blues will not pocket anything from his exit.

In recent weeks, he has been a fringe player as he’s struggled to get too many starts with most of his appearances coming off the bench.

Rangers new manager must make the final decision on Hagi’s future

The new Rangers manager faces a critical decision on Hagi’s future as his contract nears its expiry, with the 26-year-old winger showing signs of discontent but potential openness to staying if aligned with the ambitious 49ers Enterprises project.

Hagi’s ten league goal contributions this season, including three goals and seven assists, highlight his creative value, yet his inconsistent impact have fueled doubts over his future, with clubs like Fenerbahce circling.

The 49ers’ impending takeover promises fresh investment and a long-term vision, which could sway Hagi if the manager can integrate him into a revitalised squad.

However, financial constraints and the need to prioritise other signings may push Rangers to part ways with him if his wage demands are too high.
