Rangers transfer news: Nico Raskin set for ‘big move’ in Ibrox summer clearout

Rangers could lose Nicolas Raskin to a top European club in a clearout at Ibrox this summer.

The Bears are poised for a big summer of change, with a US consortium led by Andrew Cavenagh and Paraag Marathe set to complete a takeover.

One of the first major decisions the new owners will make after coming into power at Ibrox is appointing Rangers’ next permanent manager, as Barry Ferguson’s deal expires in the summer.

The Light Blues’ plans for the transfer window could depend on who takes the reins there, but some players will be lucky to avoid being part of a mass exodus in Glasgow.

Raskin transfer depends on one condition

There will certainly be a clearout of players at Rangers during the summer transfer window, according to the Mail.

The newspaper, reporting via their website on Thursday (10 April), added that Raskin is among those who could be on their way out of Ibrox, as he is already being linked with ‘lucrative’ transfers.

Described as an ‘Ibrox standout’, the 24-year-old is said to be destined for a ‘big move’ on the condition that he adds more goals to his game.

Raskin is seemingly set to be Rangers’ next biggest sale after making his first-team debut for Belgium last month.

However, the midfielder has accepted that he needs to contribute more goals before deciding on his future in the summer.

Rangers to cash in on Raskin

Raskin has scored two goals and provided seven assists in 47 appearances across all competitions for Rangers this season, which is not bad for a defensive-minded midfielder.

However, the Belgian is disappointed by his goal tally and is keen to improve on his finishing, as he aims to take his career forward.

While several players could be on their way out of Ibrox this summer, Raskin is one player Rangers would be reluctant to lose.

Nevertheless, the Bears could still cash in on the former Standard Liege ace while his stock his high.
