Rangers transfer development emerges in race to sign Celtic ace Greg Taylor

Rangers have been linked with a move to sign Celtic defender Greg Taylor on a free transfer this summer.

Kris Boyd has urged his former club to explore the possibility of acquiring his services when his deal runs out at Parkhead.

Even Michael Stewart believes that signing the 27-year-old would be a good move for the Ibrox outfit.

Dinamo Zagreb may pull plug on Taylor pursuit

Dinamo Zagreb recently parted ways with manager Fabio Cannavaro on 9 April.

Despite only joining in December, the Croatian outfit decided that the Italy legend was not the right fit for them.

This decision could see a change in their transfer strategy this summer as well.

Per the Sun, they were favourites to sign Taylor, but now that they will have a new manager in charge for the window, they may decide to pull the plug on the pursuit.

Rangers can take advantage post the San Francisco 49ers takeover

The Cannavaro sacking introduces uncertainty into Taylor’s anticipated transfer from Celtic, potentially opening a window for Gers to pursue the 27-year-old left-back once their takeover by the San Francisco 49ers is finalised.

Taylor, whose Celtic contract expires this summer, was a top target for Cannavaro, with Zagreb previously favoured to secure him on a free transfer.

However, this shift weakens Dinamo’s position, giving Rangers, a club already linked to Taylo. a fresh opportunity.

Rangers are in a patchy run of form.

With the 49ers’ takeover nearing completion by late April, the Ibrox outfit could gain the financial muscle and stability to make a sensational swoop for their Old Firm rival’s player if they are actually interested in signing him.

The Scotland international’s vast experience in the SPFL and his versatility make him an attractive addition to bolster Gers’ squad for a title challenge.

If the takeover concludes swiftly, Rangers can capitalise on Dinamo’s managerial upheaval to explore Taylor’s services, reshaping the Scottish football landscape.
