Lyall Cameron tribunal update shared after Rangers talks with Dundee
Rangers’ domestic season is over with 13 points between themselves and Celtic at the top of the table.
The Gers still have Europa League action to play for but many supporters will be looking ahead to the end of the campaign, with hopes of a takeover by the 49ers Enterprises being completed.
Rangers have already started planning ahead too, having agreed on a pre-contract to sign Lyall Cameron from Dundee at the end of the season.

Cameron’s contract with Dundee expires at the end of the season, hence why Rangers have been able to agree a deal with him ahead of the summer.
However, with the 22-year-old having been brought up through the ranks and developed by his current club, the Light Blues are obliged to pay compensation to secure his services.

Nothing has been agreed yet, but if the two sides can align on a fee then that will be the final sum. However, if an agreement cannot be reached, the matter will be put to an independent Scottish FA tribunal to be resolved.
It was a tribunal that ordered the Gers to pay a fee of about £640,000, with £250,000 of add-ons, for Connor Barron as he joined from Aberdeen last summer.
With that in mind, Dundee chief executive John Nelms says he expects this matter to be resolved between the two clubs with initial conversations having taken place with Patrick Stewart.
Speaking to the Daily Record (9 April), Nelms said: “I don’t think they want to go to a tribunal.
“The last tribunal was very well publicised and our lawyers know all the details. So we both have different views probably and neither one of us want to get there, so hopefully we will come to a resolution on that.
“There has been a small conversation [with Stewart]. A very, very preliminary conversation.”

As the summer approaches, those at Ibrox are anticipating a takeover ahead of the new season which should give Rangers an increased budget going forward.
However, with this contract already being agreed, if the Light Blues can settle with Dundee out of a tribunal, it would surely benefit them.
The last time they had to go to a tribunal, they were ordered to pay a big sum which could surely be put towards more depth in the squad, even though Barron has made 22 Scottish Premiership appearances this season.
Dundee’s academy does not have elite status meaning the fee required for Cameron is likely to be less than what they had to cough up for Barron.
With Stewart currently having the conversations, it’s hard to anticipate which route this will go down but, as Nelms says, a settlement that does not go to tribunal could well be the way to go on this one.
