49ers ready ‘high-profile’ boardroom signing at Rangers after Arsenal news
Rangers are in desperate need of change at Ibrox as the 49ers Enterprises wait for their takeover to be formally completed.
The Americans, with Andrew Cavenagh, could gain legal approval before the end of April, before finalising the change of ownership.
It appears that the impending new owners have already set their sights on changes at the very top, with Arsenal interim sporting director Jason Ayto wanted.

Rangers to raid Arsenal for Ayto appointment
Arsenal are said to want to keep Ayto at the Emirates, with a summer exit currently lined up, and Dan Plumley insists it shows the big plans in Glasgow.
The football finance expert believes it highlights big intentions from the possible new owners, with Mikel Arteta a fan with no complaints.
“It does show ambition,” he exclusively told Ibrox News.
“It kind of comes with the territory with this takeover, it’s a scale-up in every sense of the word.
“As I say, it’s a big and bold move, he’s well-respected at Arsenal from what we can see, Mikel Arteta is a fan, and there’s no suggestion that they want to get rid of him.
“You’ve also got a bit of a merry-go-round in English football with Everton and Crystal Palace looking for new directors, so his name has been mentioned a few times now, and he is that kind of high profile signing in that space, and we know that sporting director is becoming a more coveted role in the industry.
“It shows big intentions from Rangers if they do go out for that type of appointment.”

Rangers in complete mess
It is hard to know what needs solving more urgently at Rangers.
The Ibrox boardroom has been a disgrace for years now, with players being undersold to try and heal some financial wounds, with matters on the pitch suffering too.
The Bears haven’t won at Ibrox in over two months after the 2-0 defeat against Hibernian, as Barry Ferguson tries to rescue the dismal scraps that were left behind by Philippe Clement.
Rangers | Stat | Hibernian |
15 | Shots | 7 |
3 | Shots on target | 3 |
72% | Possession | 28% |
620 | Passes | 241 |
86% | Pass accuracy | 71% |
As well as the boardroom needing to be rescued, a new manager is also needed and that all points towards a massive summer of change in Govan.
