Oscar Cortes makes new admission on Rangers future after injury woes
Oscar Cortes has endured a miserable season for Rangers with injuries.
The Colombian, who is loan from Rennes, has featured just seven times in the Scottish Premiership this season.
Rangers have an obligation to buy him for £3.5million in the summer and that deal has caused concern amongst the fanbase and pundits.

Michael Stewart highlighted Cortes as one of the Rangers stars that lack the intensity to play in the Scottish Premiership.
However, the 21-year-old still has faith that he can prove himself in Govan despite a nightmare season and is hoping to finish the campaign strongly and earn the move.
Speaking to a radio station in his native Colombia, via the Daily Record (5 April), he said: “I’m back training alongside the team. I’ve been training with my teammates for a month now. I’m fine and I feel good, which is the most important thing for getting playing time.
“I was in the squad for the last game, unfortunately, I couldn’t get in, but I hope to get some game time soon.
“I belong to Lens and I’m on loan at Rangers. The intention is to recover well from injury, be able to play, and get minutes and see what happens.”

Rangers need Cortes to come good
If the Gers are forced to purchase the Colombian due to the clause in the loan deal, then they need him to put his injury issues behind him and start contributing.
It would help massively if he was able to ease the burden on Hamza Igamane and Vaclav Cerny in the final months of the season, with Europa League success on the line but that seems like an unlikely prospect given how his season has gone so far.

There may be a scenario where they can get out of the deal due to the lack of appearances which may allow the Light Blues to void it, if there is, they must do it as the player has not proved to be physical enough for the Scottish game.
If they cannot, it will be a significant chunk of money down the drain and just another sign of the Govan outfit’s flawed recruitment strategy that has haunted them in recent seasons.
One of the first tasks for the 49ers Enterprises group, when their takeover is completed, is to put a better recruitment strategy in place, one that combines the picking up of foreign gems such as Igamane and Clinton Nsiala with buying the best in Scotland, something they have failed to do for several years.
