Chris Sutton destroys Rangers man after Hibs loss

Chris Sutton fired jabs as Rangers suffered a shocking defeat against Hibernian at Ibrox.

Gers failed to get out of second gear and paid the price for it, losing 2-0 in the SPFL on Saturday, 5 April.

Dylan Levitt and Martin Boyle scored to ensure that the Glasgow giants are still to win a home game since February.

Barry Ferguson slammed by Sutton as Hibs win

Sutton is not one to shy away when there is an opportunity to poke fun at Rangers.

Being a former Celtic player, he has always criticised the Ibrox outfit and after such a tame display at home, he did not shy away.

He took to X to express his feelings after the result and took a swipe at the interim boss Barry Ferguson.

Rangers are in poor form at Ibrox

Sutton mentioned Bazzball – a term coined to describe the style of play of the England cricket team.

However, he clearly meant it as a short-form for Barry and he posted shortly after the full-time whistle.

He wrote: “How did Bazball go today?”

Rangers continue to struggle in front of their home fans

Sutton’s sharp criticism of Rangers and Ferguson following their defeat to Hibernian is entirely justified, as the Gers put in a dire performance that exposed their lack of identity under their interim boss.

The hosts struggled to find any rhythm, failing to get out of second gear, and paid the price as Levitt and Boyle secured a deserved win for Hibs.

Rangers’ attacking output was dismal, managing just three shots on target throughout the match, a statistic that underscores their toothless display.

Ferguson’s side lacked a distinct playing style, appearing disjointed and uninspired, with no clear tactical approach to break down a well-organised Hibs defence.

This loss marked Rangers’ continued failure to win at home since February, a damning indictment of their current form.

Sutton’s “Bazball” jab, a playful dig at Ferguson’s management, highlights the broader issue.

The Ibrox are drifting without direction, and Ferguson must take some responsibility for the team’s inability to perform.

This display was a far cry from what fans expect at Ibrox, validating Sutton’s pointed critique of a side that looked lost.
