Simon Thomas stunned by what happened in Rangers loss v Hibs – ‘My goodness me’
Rangers suffered a disappointing 2-0 defeat to Hibernian at Ibrox on Saturday afternoon.
David Gray’s men, who are the most in-form team in the Scottish Premiership, took the lead thanks to Dylan Levitt in the early stages.
Martin Boyle then doubled Hibernian’s lead in the second half, and Barry Ferguson’s side had no answer to such a setback.
The Bears’ dreadful run at Ibrox has continued, as they have not enjoyed a victory on home soil since their 4-0 win over Ross County on 2 February.

Simon Thomas left in disbelief as Hibernian double lead over Rangers
The Gers handed themselves a major mountain to climb when Hibs beat Jack Butland at Ibrox for the second time.
Speaking on Sky Sports News on Saturday (4:33pm, 5 April), Soccer Saturday host Simon Thomas said: “My goodness me.”
Rangers are next in Scottish Premiership action when they travel to Aberdeen on Saturday 12 April, but they will be far more concerned by Thursday’s Europa League clash with Bilbao.

Europa League success becomes more important for Ferguson after Rangers lose to Hibernian
Ferguson is still auditioning to become the Gers’ next permanent boss, as he remains in interim charge after Philippe Clement was sacked in February.
Opponent | Result |
Fenerbahce (H) | 0-2 L (Rangers win on penalties) |
Celtic (A) | 2-3 W |
Dundee (A) | 3-4 W |
Hibernian (H) | 0-2 L |
But incoming owners, 49ers Enterprises, will be far from impressed by the fact that Ferguson is still yet to steer the Bears to a victory at Ibrox.
Courtesy of Celtic’s unassailable lead at the top of the Scottish Premiership, the only silverware still available to Rangers is the Europa League.
Defeating La Liga outfit Bilbao and consequently progressing to the semi-finals has become even more important for Ferguson and his bid to become the Gers’ next permanent boss after his side provided the Ibrox faithful with yet another disappointment in the form of a 2-0 home defeat to Hibernian.
Overcoming a strong Bilbao side, who sit fourth in the Spanish top-flight, could prove a tall order for the Bears, but it would be exactly what Ferguson needs.
