Rangers ‘set for another’ major exit after recent revelation
Rangers are preparing for a tricky summer ahead with the takeover and a number of their players linked with the exit door.
The San Francisco 49ers are yet to get the deal rubber-stamped to become the new permanent owners of the Ibrox outfit.
There’s also the small matter of dealing with the managerial situation and whether or not the Americans opt to bring in a fresh face.

John Souttar seems to be re-considering his future at Ibrox
Back in October, everything appeared to be on track for John Souttar to sign a contract extension at Rangers.
However, there have since been no developments on the matter, and his recent comments have cast further doubt about his future at Ibrox.
He said: “To be honest, I’ve not spoken about that for a while. There has been loads of changes at the club so that situation has gone on the back-burner.
| Minutes | Touches | Accurate Passes | Passes Into Final Third | Accurate Long Balls | Duels Won | Clearances |
| 90 | 85 | 71/78 (91%) | 7 | 6/10 (60%) | 5/5 (100%) | 3 |
“I’ve not spoken to anyone about it for a while. I’m just concentrating on my football and let others deal with what they have to deal with. Hopefully it then gets resolved.
“There is so much going on at the club just now. I’m sure that when there is some stability that’ll get sorted.”
Souttar’s comments about his contract being “on the back-burner” amid Rangers’ impending ownership change and managerial uncertainty could hint at him weighing his future at the club and his exit may be set in stone.

Rangers exodus may be on the cards this summer
The 28-year-old defender, out of contract in 2026, seems to be adopting a wait-and-see approach, focusing on his performances while leaving his long-term commitment unresolved.
This ambiguity, coupled with Gers’ determination to avoid losing players like Alfredo Morelos and Ryan Kent for free, suggests the club might push for a decision soon – or risk cashing in on him if he doesn’t extend.
Souttar’s situation mirrors that of Vaclav Cerny, the 27-year-old winger on loan from Wolfsburg, whose temporary stint could end without a permanent move if Rangers’ new ownership opts for a different direction.
Similarly, Nicolas Raskin and Hamza Igamane have both been linked with moves to the Premier League and could decide to jump ship.
With the 49ers Enterprises takeover and Barry Ferguson’s interim tenure adding flux, Souttar’s reluctance to dive into contract talks could signal he’s open to exploring options elsewhere, potentially joining Cerny and one of Raskin or Igamane on the way out if stability doesn’t bring clarity soon.
