Rangers in line to land big-name targets thanks to secret Raskin transfer mission
Rangers saw a number of players head off on international duty last month, but it certainly did not halt their momentum.
The Gers picked up from where they left off before the two-week break as they recovered brilliantly to beat Dundee 4-3 at Dens Park on Saturday (29 March).
Nico Raskin had a good game on the whole, coming in the wake of suggestions that the Belgium midfielder could be on his way out of Ibrox.
However, while those exit rumours will no doubt persist, Raskin could help Rangers to land a big-name target or two.
Raskin catches eye on Belgium duty
Chris Sutton said on the back of Rangers’ win over Celtic that it will be “interesting to see” where Raskin ends up next season.
Raskin made two appearances for Belgium over the international break, including the full 90 minutes in the 3-0 win over Ukraine.
And in the view of pundit Derek Ferguson, the brother of manager Barry Ferguson, Raskin could help convince some of his international colleagues to make the switch to Ibrox.
“These players will all talk when they’re on international duty, asking what’s Rangers like, what’s Scotland like? I’m sure Raskin would have given Rangers a glowing report… aside from the weather,” Ferguson exclusively told Ibrox News.
“They all get together and ask ‘is this a big club?’ Some players might get frightened off because it’s tense. It’s 24/7. Other players will really fancy that.
“So when these players are together, I know Rangers will be given a glowing report and it will open the other players’ eyes to coming to Scotland and playing for Rangers.”
Belgium squad full of talent
Belgium posses one of the best squads in international football, including the likes of Romelu Lukaku and Kevin De Bruyne.

While those names are out of Rangers’ reach, others could be more attainable. Having ‘agent’ Raskin putting in a good word for the Gers certainly will not harm their chances of pulling off a coup.
Of more importance right now will be retaining the midfielder beyond the summer transfer window. There has been talk of a £10million departure for Raskin, which would make for a tidy profit.
That may well be too good for the Gers to turn down, but if they can keep him for another year and sell for a similar fee in 2026, that would surely be the dream scenario.
